what's new

My show at the Alberta Street Oyster Bar will be going up in August and running through September. I am working on a lot of new stuff, stay tuned for new imagery.

Its time for the Alberta Art Walk again! Come see my art every last Thursday from April - October along Alberta street. Will and I are hoping to keep our spot in front of Tea Chai Te, on 2223 NE Alberta street. Visit Will's very cool website at wlbimagery.com and his blog at: wlbimagery.blogspot.com. Contact me for directions/questions. Hope to see you there!

Never ever thought I would say this, but i am thinking of applying to grad school. yep, thats right didn't think i ever wanted to take another class again, but am seriously thinking about Marylherst University's Art Therapy program, so that is my current plan. It is just south of PDX, and got some good stuff going on, so i hear. Got to do some serious fundraising and art making to pay for all of this, but hoping to make this a reality in the next year or two.

What's new

Hi all,

Seems I have been absent here lately. Suppose that's what happens when you still have a day job! Lately, I have been better at getting back into the studio on my days off, painting for upcoming shows and really having fun. I just got back into using oils again, after about a year of switching to acrylics. And I really missed them! Stay tuned for info about my upcoming April show at the Alberta Oyster Bar in NE Portland, and the Alberta Art Walk that I will be participating in again this year. I also plan on having my coasters in shops in the coming months.

On a side note, check out my friend, Julie's art at www.freshink.etsy.com. Julie is an old friend from college, and my former studio-mate in Bellingham. She is a talented artist, now living and working at the Youngstown Artist Collective in Seattle. She makes pretty things- homemade journals, all sorts of prints and other goodies. Check her out.

Thanks again for looking!

Julia

The results of hanging a show all night last April at Mt. Bakery (Bellingham, WA). This was a joint show I did with my boyfriend, Will Bruno. I used to work there, so they let us have free reign and we were there hanging all night. We opted to never do another show together again. But I do love him so. Check his art out at www.wlbimagery.com.

new flower coasters!

Here is an example of my latest coaster design!
These guys are almost finished. I am on a roll with
coaster making right now. I paint or collage
over recycled tiles. Once the design is done, I
coat them with a high-gloss resin that enables them
to withstand hot liquids. (This makes them not only art,
but functional too!) Stay tuned for complete sets soon!
Sets of four go for $32 + shipping.
